Cabrillo Music Theatre Prepares for First Show of 2017 – Sister Act!

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (March 23, 2017) –

Cabrillo Music Theatre, the resident, professional theater production company of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, is gearing up for exciting changes and a show schedule packed with fan favorites, such as Sister Act and Peter Pan, in 2017.

Under new direction since June of 2016 through Will North – a veteran actor-director with experience in all aspects of theater production – the regional theater company has begun a series of changes designed to reinforce its position as a professional theater company that offers high-quality productions with high-caliber sets and experienced talent.

North, who has more than 20 years of experience both onstage and backstage, is utilizing his acting, producing and directing experience to continue to develop Cabrillo Music Theatre’s reputation as a top-notch theater production company that produces shows reminiscent of Broadway standards.

“For its 2016 performances, Cabrillo Music Theatre was chosen as a recipient for the Best Theatrical Season by BroadwayWorld.com,” North said. “I’m thrilled to bring that momentum into 2017, leading with our first show of 2017, Sister Act. I feel honored each day to be a part of bringing these productions to life with such a talented group of professionals.”

Featuring original music by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken, Sister Act is a tribute to the universal power of friendship, filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing and a truly moving story. Cabrillo Music Theatre has nine performances beginning April 21, 2017, at the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks.

In addition to continuing the excellence Cabrillo Music Theatre is known for in the Ventura and Los Angeles County regions, North has large plans in store for Cabrillo Music Theatre that include a complete rebranding of the theatre company in name and logo, as well as a website redesign. These changes further reflect the new direction of Cabrillo Music Theatre after it expanded its board of directors in the summer of 2016, and an announcement will be shared in the upcoming months once the new name and logo are revealed.

Following Sister Act, Cabrillo Music Theatre’s Peter Pan, will round out the current season and an exciting 2017/2018 season lineup will soon be announced.
