Cabrillo Music Theatre Announces New Name as 5-Star Theatricals
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (July 01, 2017) — Earlier this month, Cabrillo Music Theatre, the resident, professional theater production company of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, announced the soft launch of its rebranding as 5-Star Theatricals. The news, which was shared with audiences and fans before each Peter Pan performance, was announced by Cabrillo Music Theatre’s managing director, Will North, on opening night.
“We’re excited to make this big step in propelling the company to the next level,” North said. “As 5-Star Theatricals, we will continue to perform the high-caliber, professional musicals our fans have supported for decades, while exploring opportunities for expansion to other performing art forms including experimenting with immersive theater and producing in different venues. This change allows us to honor the feedback we received from our fans, donors, community leaders and performers, but most importantly, we will be doing it in a respectful manner that is true to our core values of community outreach and quality performances that Cabrillo has always been known for.”
Cabrillo Music Theatre rang in the news with T-shirts emblazoned with the new name and logo that were launched into the crowd by the company’s board members. In September, Cabrillo Music Theatre will have its official launch party to celebrate the new name, which will become official beginning September 1, 2017.
The rebranding will not affect current season ticketholders, who will still enjoy all the membership benefits they have grown accustomed to through season memberships with the company. As the name transition takes place, updated messaging will be incorporated onto Cabrillo Music Theatre’s existing website to keep fans aware of the changes, until a new website is launched in September.
Earlier this month, Cabrillo Music Theatre also announced the third show in its 2017-18 season lineup — the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. After blossoming its magical charm over the Civic Arts Plaza as one of the top-selling Cabrillo Music Theatre shows of all time, explore Beauty and the Beast once more through a brand-new retelling of the classically enchanting tale as old as time. Cabrillo Music Theatre will begin its 2017-18 season as 5-Star Theatricals, kicking off with Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in October 2017, followed by The Hunchback of Notre Dame in April 2018, and Beauty and the Beast in July 2018.
