02 Jun STARLIGHT KIDS AUDITIONS
Our Youth Programs are back!!
5-Star Starlight Kids & Young Adult Ambassadors Program
ABOUT THE PROGRAMS
The 5-Star Starlight Kids & YA Ambassadors are 5-Stars’ audition-based youth performance groups that perform yearlong in Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley and the San Fernando Valley area.
5-Star Starlight Kids is open to students in grades 4 through 8. 5-Star YA Ambassadors is open to students in grades 9 through collegiate seniors.
Upcoming performance opportunities and required rehearsals for each event will be released at the start of each season. Students can then select which events they would like to participate in based on their availability. These events include a variety of local fundraising and community performances as well as the yearly holiday show at the Port Hueneme Naval Base.
In addition to required rehearsals for specific performance opportunities, there will be drop-in monthly rehearsals during which the groups will work on custom repertoire and arrangements written specifically for the 5-Star Starlight Kids and YA Ambassadors.
In addition to program director Casey Mills, both groups will have the opportunity to work with a variety of performance coaches from the 5-Star family in both master class settings and in preparation for different performances.
There will be a $30 yearly participation fee per student.
All students under 18 must audition (even if you were previously a Starlight Kid or Teen). For students 18 and over who were previously a Starlight Teen or Cabrillo Teen and are interested in the YA Ambassador program, please email email@example.com for more information.

5-Star YA Ambassadors Audition Requirements
For students in ninth grade up through college seniors
TWO VIDEOS SHOULD BE UPLOADED – Introduce your song with a slate that includes your name, age, and what grade you’ll be starting in the fall of 2022.
Video #1: Please prepare a 32 bar cut (approximately one minute) of a musical theatre song of your choice. This can include movie musicals or Disney. Students should sing to instrumental tracks. No a capella auditions will be considered.
Video #2: Prepare the appropriate harmony line of “Into the Woods” using the guide vocal tracks (i.e. soprano/mezzo, alto, tenor, or bass) and sing with the provided accompaniment track. We will be looking for students with a strong ability to harmonize and we will be selecting equal numbers across all voice parts, so please prepare the harmony track that most suits your voice. All sopranos should learn the mezzo harmony as we are looking to hear your ability to hold a harmony line against the melody.
